Northern Divide Wind Farm, Construction Survey

In the summer of 2020, Northern Divide Wind, LLC (a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources) was granted approval by the ND Public Service Commission for a new wind farm in Burke County, North Dakota. The wind farm has a capacity of approximately 200 megawatts and consists of 74 wind turbine generators and associated facilities. The project also included a 43-mile long, 345-kilovolt transmission line that started at the wind farm in Burke County and extended to Basin Electric’s Tande Substation in Mountrail County.

The Stanley Office Survey Crew completed the construction and as-built surveying for the project. The team provided construction staking on 43 miles of roadway, 72 miles of underground power line staking, and miscellaneous staking for construction and environmentally sensitive areas.
