GEDDES, SOUTH DAKOTA
Like many smaller communities, the City of Geddes faced serious concerns with their water distribution infrastructure systems. Lack of a certified operator and the immediate need of a new water tower made operating their water system difficult. The City constantly suffered from poor water pressures and lack of sufficient storage.
Through a partnership with Randall Community Water District (RCWD), the City of Geddes addressed all of their concerns by allowing RCWD to assume water operations for the City. RCWD retained Brosz Engineering to assist in addressing the necessary improvements to both systems for the assumption. Work included the valuation of both existing water systems (RCWD & City of Geddes) to determine necessary upgrades. The team then designed the new system to meet the needs of RCWD and the City of Geddes. Brosz also assisted with the procurement of project funding and drafted a water user agreement between RCWD and City of Geddes.
