MCCOOK COUNTY, SOUTH DAKOTA
The SDDOT began construction on a new bridge on SD Highway 38, located 1.5 miles west of Salem. Specifically, the project includes removal of the existing bridge and construction of a new 226-foot structure, resurfacing at the bridge ends, and guardrail installation.
Grangaard Construction of Watertown was selected as the prime contractor for the $3.6 million construction project. Brosz Engineering subcontracted with Grangaard to provide construction surveying and construction staking for the project.
The Brosz team reestablished the right of way and public land survey. In addition, construction surveying services included grade staking, final cross-section survey, slope staking, structure staking, and bridge elevation survey.
