Mosher Road Bridge Replacement

GOLDEN VALLEY COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA

The team recently completed construction on this bridge replacement project located in Golden Valley County within the North Dakota Badlands. The project consisted of replacing a single lane 50’ long Pony Truss Bridge which had exceeded its lifespan and had sustained significant damaged over the years by ice and debris. First constructed in 1910 and reconstructed in 1932, the bridge was declared structurally deficient. The new structure is a single-span prestressed bulb T Girder bridge with an overall bridge length of 110’ and a roadway width of 28’.

Several environmental issues required additional attention. This included the following: fish spawning restrictions within the creek; Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) requiring equipment inspection; protected migratory birds in the old structure; wetland mitigation and recurring monitoring; and erosion control and shoreline stabilization.

Construction engineering services include construction surveying, project management, and on-site daily inspection. Industrial Builders, Inc. out of Fargo was the general contractor.
